Unsure about size? The manufacturer's guidelines for weight is usually quite accurate for an average build child. Suits should fit snugly so that the floats do not bunch under your child's chin. If your child is on the border of two sizes, the smaller size is usually best.

If your child has difficulty floating at first, it may help giving your child a foam "noodle" to grasp until he/she learns to float upright independently.  Little ones need to time to relax and learn how to use their arms and legs to keep themselves upright...which is teaching them the beginning steps of swimming!
