Before preschoolers can read, they need to know the alphabet letters and the sounds that these letters make. Our preschool alphabet game is a great preschool educational toy that helps children reinforce and learn these important pre-reading skills.
How does this preschool alphabet game work? Your child simply uses one of the pattern cards that shows the outline of an object along with all but one of the letters that spells the object (ex. the cow card shows the cow outline and "ow" but leaves off the "c"). Next, he/she matches the rubber letters and an object to those shown on the card and then uses the letters and object to figure out what sound is missing. The letter that makes the missing sound is the one that goes into the blank. The answer is listed on the card back.
This alphabet activity can be completed by one child or can be made into an alphabet game by using a timer and competing with another child to complete the most cards in a certain amount of time. One child can also record his/her best scores for most cards completed in a certain amount of time and then try to beat this time.
The objects and letters included with this preschool alphabet game come in two 11.5 inch square sheets that can also be used as puzzles!
