Tile Matching Game

Numero, made in Germany using quality wooden tiles and non-toxic paints, is a great way to help preschoolers and elementary children learn numbers and their meanings. 

20 wooden tiles comprised of number tiles (1 through 10) along with picture tiles showing a particular number of objects that matches with each number tile.  The color of most objects is similar to the color of the number (nine purple grapes matches the purple 9 tile, 10 oranges match the orange 10 tile, etc...).  Some of the objects pictured - such as the seven dwarves, three bears, and five fingers - are helpful since most children associate such numbers with these particular objects.   

How can your child play with these?  Start by identifying the numbers and placing them in order.  Then practice matching the numbers with the picture tiles by counting the objects.  Finally, play a memory matching game by turning the tiles over and finding matching pairs of number/picture tiles.  Game is ideal for 1-3 players.
