Why wear a rash guard? Rash guards originated when surfers needed protection in weather too hot for wetsuits. Rash guards are now widely worn for protection during water sports, sunny outdoor activities, and for sun protection that isn't too hot and heavy. They're great for babies and toddlers who play at the beach or poolside - wear them atop swimsuits or alone as playwear.
Our baby and toddler rash guards offer UPF 50+, which is similar to how sunscreen is measured in SPF. A UPF 50+ means only 1/50th of the sun's rays can get through the fabric - pretty cool! Be sure to buy a toddler rash guard that's big enough since the fabric's UPF lessens if the materials is stretched.
Toddler rash guards come in a 1-piece t-shirt style top made from colorful Nylon/Elasthane fabric that is water-resistant (fabric is slightly thinner than a normal swimsuit). Great worn alone or over a swimsuit! Available in sizes for babies and toddlers (up to 3T).
Don't forget to add a colorful sun protection hat, Blue Lizard suncreen, and sunglasses! The royal blue and hot pink sun hats match best with the rash guards that have dark pink or dark blue.
